A 9-year-old girl was abducted by an unknown suspect at New York’s Lake George, according to an Amber Alert received by some Massachusetts residents.
New York State Police said in the alert that the girl, Melina Galanis Frattolin, was last seen at 9:40 p.m. on Saturday in a white van on Interstate 87 near exit 22.
Police said the girl was taken under circumstances that led them to believe that the child is in imminent danger of serious bodily harm and/or death.
The child is described as an Indian female with brown hair and brown eyes. She is about 5 feet tall and weighs about 100 pounds, police said.
She was last seen wearing a blue and white striped shirt, shorts and white Adidas sneakers.
Police ask anyone who sees the missing girl to call 518-743-2501 or 911.
The Warren County Sheriff’s Office issued the Amber Alert.

Subject of AMBER Alert found dead, police say 9-year-old was not abducted TICONDEROGA, NY (WKRC) – A 9-year-old girl was found dead after an AMBER Alert was issued but police now believe she was never abducted.
On Saturday, Luciano Frattolin called 911 to say his daughter Melina had been abducted in Lake George, New York. The pair was from Canada.
A search was launched but law enforcement identified inconsistencies in the father’s account of events and the timeline he provided.
Several law enforcement agencies searched for Melina and they found her dead in Ticonderoga, New York.
Police say there is no indication that an abduction occurred. They have not said anything about charging the father yet.
