🚨 Car Crashes Into Abington Home, Two Critically Injured; Residents Displaced
ABINGTON, MA (plimoth)— Two people were critically injured early Sunday morning after a vehicle crashed into a residential home on Washington Street, prompting a large emergency response and displacing several residents.
Abington Police and Fire crews were called to 633 Washington Street just after 3 a.m. for reports of a car that had slammed into the side of a house. First responders found the vehicle on its side, wedged between the home and a nearby fence.
According to officials, two men in their early 20s were trapped inside the vehicle. Firefighters used hydraulic rescue tools to remove the roof of the car and free both occupants. The victims were transported to area hospitals with life-threatening injuries.
The impact caused significant structural damage to the home, including damage to the electrical meter. The Abington Building Inspector deemed the residence unsafe, forcing five residents to evacuate. No one inside the home was injured.
Washington Street was closed for several hours as emergency crews worked to secure the scene and utilities assessed potential hazards.
Police confirmed the incident remains under active investigation, and officials have stated it is being treated as a criminal matter. No charges have been announced at this time.



Residents are urged to avoid the area while repairs and safety inspections continue.
