Attempted Arson at Abington Police Station Under Investigation
ABINGTON, Mass.(Plimoth)— Police are investigating an attempted arson incident at the Abington Police Station after a suspect allegedly tried to set fire to a police cruiser parked outside the building.

According to authorities, surveillance video captured a man approaching the Abington Police Chief’s cruiser during the early morning hours and pouring a flammable liquid on the vehicle before attempting to ignite it. The fire did not spread, and no injuries were reported.
Officers responded quickly, and the suspect was later taken into custody. He is facing multiple charges, including attempted arson, malicious damage to property, and trespassing. Investigators say the incident appears to be isolated, and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The police station remained operational, and additional security measures were implemented as a precaution. Officials have not released further details about a motive, and the investigation remains ongoing.
