CARVER, Mass.(Plimoth)— Two people were killed and two others were injured Saturday evening following a shooting at the St. John the Baptist Club in Carver during what authorities say appeared to be a child’s birthday party.
Police confirmed that a 22-year-old suspect is in custody and is expected to be arraigned later this week. Investigators stressed that the shooting was not a random act and that there is no ongoing threat to the public.
Shooting Occurred at St. John the Baptist Club
The shooting took place Saturday night at the St. John the Baptist Club, located on Silva Street in Carver. Emergency responders rushed to the scene after reports of gunfire inside the private club.
Silva Street was temporarily closed as law enforcement secured the area, collected evidence, and interviewed witnesses.
Victims and Investigation
Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims. The conditions of the two injured individuals have also not been disclosed.
