Judge Reschedules Lindsay Clancy Murder Trial to July 20, 2026
PLYMOUTH, Mass. (Plimoth)— A Plymouth County Superior Court judge has granted another continuance in the high-profile case against Lindsay Clancy, setting a new trial date of July 20, 2026, after determining that extensive pretrial preparation remains ongoing.
Clancy, the Duxbury mother accused of strangling her three young children to death in January 2023, appeared via Zoom from Tewksbury State Hospital during a recent hearing. Her attorney and prosecutors jointly requested the delay, citing that the case continues to be “discovery-intensive,” with numerous expert evaluations and evidentiary issues still being addressed.
Originally scheduled to begin in February 2026, the trial has been postponed multiple times as both sides work through pretrial motions, expert evidence, and logistical planning. A judge also denied the defense’s motion to move the case out of Plymouth County, despite concerns raised about extensive media coverage potentially affecting the jury pool.
Clancy has pleaded not guilty to three counts of murder and three counts of strangulation in connection with the deaths of her children — 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan. Prosecutors allege Clancy carried out the killings inside the family home while her husband was out briefly.
The next scheduled hearing in the case is set for January 27, 2026, when the court will review case status and scheduling ahead of the summer trial.
