Hundreds Brave Freezing Waters at Onset Bay New Year’s Polar Plunge
ONSET, MA (plimoth)— Despite near-freezing temperatures and winter conditions, hundreds of participants rang in the New Year by plunging into the icy waters of Onset Bay during the annual New Year’s Polar Plunge at Onset Beach.
The long-standing community tradition drew residents and visitors from across Plymouth County and beyond, many dressed in festive costumes, hats, and cold-weather gear before making the quick dash into the frigid ocean. Spectators lined the beach to cheer on participants as they embraced the challenge and celebrated the start of the new year.
