LAKEVILLE, Mass. — March 8, 2026 — Police are investigating a reported attempted carjacking that occurred after a crash on Route 140 in Lakeville Sunday.
According to emergency officials, a vehicle crashed along Route 140 before the driver allegedly attempted to force their way into another vehicle on the roadway.
Authorities said the incident prompted a response from local police, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel. First responders secured the area and assisted those involved while traffic on Route 140 slowed as crews worked at the scene.
The driver believed to be involved in the incident was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation. Officials have not released the person’s condition.
Investigators have not yet said what caused the initial crash or whether any charges will be filed.
Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
