User Conduct & Posting Policy1. Purpose
1.1. This policy establishes the standards and procedures governing participation in the Pilmoth News Forum (“Forum”).
1.2. Our goal is to foster an open, informative, respectful online community that reflects Pilmoth News’s commitment to accuracy, fairness, and inclusive dialogue.2. Scope
2.1. This policy applies to all Registered Users, Guests, Moderators, and Pilmoth News staff interacting with or managing the Forum.
2.2. It covers all forms of user-generated content, including but not limited to text posts, comments, images, links, polls, and replies.3. Definitions
3.1. “User” – any individual who views, registers for, or contributes content to the Forum.
3.2. “Content” – text, images, video, audio, links, or any material posted by a User.
3.3. “Moderator” – a Pilmoth-assigned or community-elected individual authorized to enforce Forum rules.
3.4. “Harassment” – targeted, repeated attacks on a User’s identity, background, or beliefs.
3.5. “Infringing Content” – material that violates copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights.4. Policy Guidelines
4.1. Respectful Discourse
4.1.1. Address ideas and arguments, not individuals.
4.1.2. No hate speech, threats, or personal attacks.
4.2. Accuracy & Attribution
4.2.1. Cite reliable sources for facts and data.
4.2.2. Clearly label opinions as such.
4.3. Prohibited Content
4.3.1. Obscene, pornographic, or sexually explicit material.
4.3.2. Harassment, hate speech, or discriminatory language.
4.3.3. Defamatory statements or false allegations.
4.3.4. Encouragement of violence or criminal activity.
4.3.5. Spam, scams, or commercial solicitations without prior permission.
4.3.6. Content infringing intellectual property rights.
4.4. Privacy & Personal Data
4.4.1. Do not post another individual’s personal data (e.g., home address, phone number, private email) without consent.
4.4.2. Report any unauthorized data sharing to Moderation immediately.
4.5. Civil & Constructive Engagement
4.5.1. Encourage healthy debate; disagree respectfully.
4.5.2. Use appropriate language and formatting—avoid ALL CAPS or excessive punctuation.5. Procedures & Processes
5.1. Registration & Account Security
5.1.1. Users must provide accurate information during registration and maintain password confidentiality.
5.1.2. Sharing of login credentials is prohibited.
5.2. Content Moderation
5.2.1. Automated filters flag potential violations for review.
5.2.2. Users may report content via the “Report” button; Moderators will respond within 48 hours.
5.2.3. Moderation actions include post removal, warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans.
5.3. Appeals Process
5.3.1. Users subject to suspension or ban may submit a written appeal to forum-appeals@pilmothnews.com within seven (7) days.
5.3.2. Appeals are reviewed by a panel of two (2) moderators and one (1) staff member; decisions are final within 14 days.6. Compliance & Consequences
6.1. First Violation: Warning and request to edit or remove offending content.
6.2. Second Violation: 48-hour suspension and removal of content.
6.3. Third Violation or Severe Breach: 7-day suspension or permanent ban, at Pilmoth News’s discretion.
6.4. Reinstatement after suspension: contingent on acceptance of terms and demonstration of compliance.7. Legal Considerations & Disclaimers
7.1. Pilmoth News Forum is a public platform; opinions expressed are those of individual Users, not Pilmoth News.
7.2. Pilmoth News disclaims liability for User-generated content but will act promptly to remove illegal material upon notice.
7.3. All content remains subject to applicable laws (e.g., defamation, intellectual property, privacy).
7.4. Pilmoth News reserves the right to modify or remove content failing to comply with this policy or applicable law.8. Definitions of Roles & Responsibilities
8.1. Users: Follow guidelines, report violations, respect fellow community members.
8.2. Moderators: Enforce rules fairly, investigate reports, communicate decisions to Users.
8.3. Pilmoth News Staff: Oversee moderation team, review appeals, update policy as needed.9. Policy Review & Amendment
9.1. This policy will be reviewed annually or as necessitated by legal or operational changes.
